Guided Imagery for Pain
This program provides a brief overview of the efficacy of using guided imagery for pain with references and then provides experiential practice in utilizing guided imagery for pain.

This 0.5-hour CME activity is designed for all clinicians who treat chronic pain.
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be better able to:
- Demonstrate fundamental knowledge of the utility of incorporating guided imagery into treatment of acute and chronic pain.
- Discuss how they might be able to use a simple guided meditation for headache relief.
- Discuss the differences between mindfulness meditations and guided imagery.
Bruce F. Singer, PsyD, serves as chief of psychology for Crossroads Centre, Antigua. The founding director of the Chronic Pain and Recovery Center at Silver Hill Hospital, he is widely recognized as a leader in bringing mindfulness and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) treatments to people with chronic pain and substance use disorders. He is a member of the Medical Advisory Board to the US Pain Foundation and the Education Committee of the American Academy of Pain Management.
